HOW MANY DRIPPING TAPS?
On our last meeting we went round the school checking taps to see if they were dripping. We found 35 dripping taps in the school -one in the kitchen was running. We had the faulty ones fixed. Back to top
NO DRIPPING TAPS NOW
This time when we checked there were NO dripping taps. Back to top
WE VISITED THE TOILETS!!
Last November, Mr Simpson came round with us and we visited every toilet in the school - boys and girls!! We were checking to see if they were working and how we could save water in the cisterns. Back to top
NEW CISTERNS AND PIPES
After our audit all the toilets in the primary and the secondary have been given new cisterns and pipes. We have had new toilets installed. These ones are much more efficient and don't use as much water. Back to top
TOILET TIP from the WATER group!
Did you know that if you put a brick in your cistern it will use less water? Back to top
BOTTLED WATER IS EXPENSIVE
For about 4 years the school has bought huge bottles of water for our cooler . We recycled plastic bottles and Liz printed labels with our names. This meant that we can drink water any time we liked. But each bottle of water cost £15 and sometimes in the summer we drank more than a bottle a day! Back to top
NEW WATER FOUNTAIN
Today (8th January) we had a new water fountain installed. It looks like our water cooler but you don't need bottles it uses mains water. It will be much cheaper but we better watch we don't empty Lochinvar (our reservoir) when we get thirsty!! Back to top
OUR SLOGAN - DON'T WASTE WONDERFUL WATER
