SCHOOL GROUNDS

SCHOOL GROUNDS SURVEY
Today (January 8th) we completed the general survey of the school grounds. Back to top
GARDEN
We have just about everything that was on the Eco Schoos' list. We have a lovely garden which has a bog; a log pile; compost heaps; wild area; vegetables; fruit bushes. Back to top
SCHOOL FIELD
We have a huge field at the back of the school where most of the older pupils play football, but we would like equipment like skipping ropes and bats and balls for the younger pupils to play with. Back to top
SURVEY
We are going to ask all the pupils what they would like to do in the playground. Six years ago the children painted a chess board and a hop-scotch game on the ground to play on. More recently Mr Simpson painetd a map of Europe too.
Six years ago the children painted a mural at the side of the school and another one on the old hut. They painted the name over the school and made a wooden caterpillar too, but they are all abit old now. They also did fundraising to get our picnic tables.
We will see what we can do following their example. Back to top
SLOGAN
We haven't decided on our slogan - yet, but we have loads of ideas. Back to top
GROUNDS FOR LEARNING
We haf a great week in the autumn when we did loads of activities called "Grounds For Learning". It was great fun. We had a conker competition, tasted "funny fruits" made seed bracelets and pictures. Jane Banner and Morag Paterson (mums) built a willow dome in our entrance hall where we hung seeds of ideas to improve our grounds. Back to top
