Well done to the netball team yesterday (Fraser, Calum, James, Eilidh, Elizabeth, Olivia, Kimberley, Taylor, and Secondary - Kirstin, Emily & Jack) when they played against Castle Douglas High School... and won.!! 14 - 6 The Castle Douglas PE teacher said that while they had the height, we certainly had the quality!! well done to all of you for such a great game and even better result. All of you played brilliantly, especially after the Crossmichael games in the morning. James Banner probably had the toughest job marking a girl twice the size of him, but Jim what a fantastic job you did, you certainly put her off!!

Thanks for the card and pressie, and thanks to Mrs McCall for organising it and for Mrs Stalker for being referee for the game.

I would like to thank all the Paul Jones team for their efforts through the season.
Having made it to the Final on Saturday, we drew with Castledykes, Lost narrowly to Dalbeattie and lost to a strong Castle Douglas team. We played with determination, skill and with a smile. Thank you to all the family and friends who came along to support. I`m sure you will be very proud:)

I hope you have enjoyed the Wednesday afternoon training as much as I have. Keep pracising over the holidays and have a happy Summer break when it comes.

Following the emotional send off to Nicole and the rest of the S4`s, I`d like to thank everyone at Dalry School who has helped her and continues to help the other kids to give them the best possible tools to deal with things to come. It was clear to me that the kids have been a great class by the emotion felt from the staff. They may not think it now, but when they are older they will realise just what a great school they went to.
It`s not easy to see your child leave, but as Mrs Austin said to me "Don`t worry, they are all ready" and I knew that. Purely and simply two words to you all- thank you.x Good luck Nicole and everyone else in the future. Be succesful but most of all be safe and enjoy life.

The 14th May 2009 will live long in the memories of the boys and adults who came to watch them play in the Regional Finals of the Fun Fours.
Having progressed through from the area sections last week, the boys faced some really tough opposition as well as some incredible sportsmanship from the Coach of the Port Wiliam team. Thank you.
We played so well it is hard to describe, but the bottom line is that the boys will now travel through to Edinburgh to the National Finals!!!!!!
The last team to do this from Dalry was four years ago, and many good players haven`t experienced what these boys will.
We have been working very hard in training and deserved our chance at the big time.We will be rubbing shoulders with coaches and players from the big Scottish clubs at youth level under 10`s!!

Hamish was immense at the back, scored a goal!! and only let two goals past him in five games despite not being allowed to use his hands. When Hamish had a well deserved wee rest, Joshua came on and never missed a ball. Very solid those two.
Theo injected some really good energy into the attack by stopping the other team getting ot with the ball. Determined and hard but very fair in the tackle. Fantastic improvement Theo!!
Joseph ran his heart out (nice to see you there dad!) and I`m sure he felt as proud as any of us when Joseph scored!
Now, Michael, James and Drife were simply exceptional.
Michael was involved in everything we did in deveoping chances and set up loads of goals and chances not to mention scoing himself!! As last week, fantastic skill!
James was strong in the tackle and clinical when shooting rewarded by eight, yes eight goals!! Magical attacking play!

A special word for our Captain Drife.
I have rarely seen a young kid who is developing in the way Drife is. He was absolutely pivotal to what we acheived at the Keswick Centre. Strong, athletic, powerful, skillful and immaculate passing. He also managed six goals!!
Abve all else, Drife lead the boys and from his passing and commitment we all took strength, not just the boys.

Well done everyone!!;)

Hi there, Just a quick note to say that I think that the website is really great and I am pleased that you have now found a better picture of myself and Mrs Splaine. I really enjoyed reading your class blogs. Maybe some of the older children could come to the Nursery one day and show us how to do one too!

Wednesday 6th May. Joseph, James, Michael, Hamish, Theo, Joshua and Captain Drife attended the Fun Fours. We played three games winning all of them and not losing a goal along the way!
Dalry 1 v Hardgate 0
Castledykes 0 v Dalry 2
Dalry 2 v Castle Douglas B 0
The boys played magnificently, each one playing a vital part in getting us through to the Regional Finals at The Keswick Centre Dumfries on 14th May!
We started sluggishly and only a great goal from Drife combined with an amazing Defensive performance from Hamish got us through.
The second and third games were a different kettle of fish. Michael Smith turned into Ronaldo (absolutely magic skills), Drife became Gerrard (totally organised and a great link between myself and the team. Strong and great link up play.) James had his best game for the school against CD B in my opinion. Great goal James!!
Great performance from these boys and to be honest, all the boys were fantastic and were a great credit to the school.

I attended this lovely school from 1953 until 1964 when I left to do my highers at Kirkcudbright Academy. I now teach at Hutheson's Grammar school in Glasgow . They evacuated during the second world war and stayed at what was Milton Park Hotel. The school still holds "Dalry" reunions.

Paul Jones Week 3 Results
Palnackie 0 v Dalry 3 (Drife Finlay, Fraser Cameron, Ryan Wilson)
Auchencairn 1 v Dalry 5 (R.Wilson 2, Wilkie, Finlay, Cameron)
Dalbeattie B 0 v Dalry 2 (Ryan Wilson 2)

The weather was utterly un-springlike, but that didn`t stop the children producing a fine display. We stuck to our task really well and everyone played a significant role. Calum was outstanding as a inspirational Captain and Fraser and Drife both had rockets to celebrate! Ryan scored two great goals against Dalbeattie. The first one must have been in the first tean seconds!

We now have 24 points from our games. We started tentatively, but we are all happy that win or lose, we are playing as a team and a smile makes that bit more of a difference.
Training was good on Wednesday. Drife nicked the trophy for P4-P5 from Theo, who produced the goods, but just missed out.
Calum and Ryan were close in their displays, but Ryan`s four goals just swung it his way.
Kids, please keep keepy-ups going. Next Wednesday, "Dalry Skill School" will return for the last five minutes of training.

SPECIAL REQUEST TO PARENTS/ FRIENDS AND FAMILY-
Dalry School Playing Fields (including Dalry v Kells!) Thursday 11th June 2009 from 10am.
Please come along and bring some good luck to the children.

Everyone parents and pupils alike should be very very proud of the kids who played in Week 2 of the Paul Jones Tournament at Dalbeattie on 2nd April 2009:)

We played five games, losing one, drawing one and winning three! Ten points out of a possible 15, but we played two of the top three teams and beat the league leaders thanks to a magic diving header from Captain Calum Wilkie! We also only lost one goal in all those matches, so you can tell how well they played.
What a difference even from the first week, where we are now passing and playing as a team. Nice to watch guys;)
Michael hadn`t much to do in the games he played, apart from a double save of amazing bravery where he lay down in front of the ball in among the feet.

Well done to everyone. Cannot fault anyone for their commitment and I`m sure you all enjoyed playing the game that way.

Enjoy the break and come back ready and focussed for round three held at Castle Douglas Secondary School on Thursday 23rd April 10am-12 noon. Please try and come along to support the kids.

Jake and Joshua were tremendous at training last Wednesday. Keep it up.

Following training on Wednesday night, Michael Smith of P5, after a quite magnificent display in goals, has been promoted to our Number 1 goalkeeper!*****
Very brave, with flying saves. Enjoy the Paul Jones Tournament Michael.

Special word to Lee McMurray for two brilliant goals in training especially a flying header! *****

To all kids, try and practise passing and shooting skills at school.

Paul Jones Week 1 results
Gatehouse 0 v Dalry 0
CD "A" 1 (overall winners last year!) v Dalry 0
Johnston 2 v Dalry 2
Dalry 1 v Twynholm 0

The players did really well and we were dissapointed to draw the two games we did! We did however manage to break the famous Dalry curse of losing our first game, so well done!
The CD game put us against the winners of last year, and arguably potential winners this, and we certainly did ourselves justice. We lost to a freak goal, but defended with great spirit.
You all have to try that wee bit harder with your ball control, keepie-ups and passing. It will pay off and draws will turn to wins. Practise at break time and even for twenty minutes a night. (An hour would be magic!:)
The next games are on the 2nd April. If you have any time, please come along and support the kids 10am-12 noon at Dalbeattie High School.

I just wanted to thank you all for trying hard at training and hope you enjoy the football we play on Wednesday`s.

Please don`t be upset if you are not in the Paul Jones Team. We only can take 9 but there will be other chances hopefully. If you try your best there is a good chance you can get in this or any team you want.

Good luck to those who play in the Paul Jones Tournament.

Keep practising everyone. You are all doing well.

The Paul Jones Football team will be announced shortly.

Footballers;- please keep trying keepie-ups and running with the ball.
The team can change if someone is showing good form and effort so please don`t be dis-heartened if you do not make the team

Parents/ friends;- The children love to see your faces at the games. Any support you can offer them is greatly received.

Above all else, and no matter the results, let`s enjoy ourselves.

You have all done well in training. Remember training Wednesdays (except holidays) 3.30pm-4.30pm.

Sadly after being 2-0 up in the Cup Final the boys lost 4-3. :( They rallied coming back from 4-2 and had their opponents on the rack. Beaten by time. They played extremely well throughout and were unlucky not to take Wallacehall into extra time. For only having 13 players including three P7`s they did wonderfully well.
Nice to see so many Glenkens people turn up to support.
Well done Mr Simpson and the boys.
Winners next year!:)

I would just like to say a Big Thank-you to the Primary 7 HEROES who performed absolutely brilliant!!. To help us Secondary boys again defeat a massive school on our way to the final. RYAN, who proformed to Pepe Reina standards "if i do say so myself " save after save with no fear and lots of determination.
Callum (Dirk Kuyt) just like Dirk, lots of energy, kept fighting to the end and put in a fantastic shift lasting the whole game.
Fraser (Bobby Harris) coming on as a sub in the first half and got into the game straight away like the final piece to the jigsaw, tighting the defence, clearing the balls with a no nonsence approach.
Thank lads for fitting in brilliantly and getting us to where we are today, keep your diary free for the next round !
Also a big thank you to our super coach Mr Simpson.

Just a small word to the Primary boys who helped Dalry School beat Castle Douglas High School 7-4 (Away!) in the Small Schools football comp[etition recently. The score did not flatter us and everyone was brilliant.
The succesful team was;-
Ryan Wilson (P7), Jamie B, James O`Brien, Jack, Darrel, William, Henry, Greig, Connor, Martin, Calum Wilkie (P7), and Ronan.
I`ll let you know what happens next round, but making through this one was brilliant. Well done boys!!

The boys played magnificently at Castle Douglas. We played arguably the two best teams they will face in the Paul Jone`s Cup (Dalbeattie A & B), and were really unfortunate to lose to a freak goal against the A Team, then they went on and beat the B team 2-1! This has to be some kind of record at Dalry School.
Basketball:- Springholm 6 v Dalry 124, Yes Springholm 6 v Dalry 124 and in only 32 mins of play !!
The children did very well indeed as you will see from the score. We have waited a long time to be rewarded in such a manner in the Prmary, and the children were very dominant, but sporting and gracious. Springholm kids were really nice despite being a wee bit over powered. A word for the quieter one`s in the team. I thought everyone played exceptionally well and Drife, McKenzie and Elizabeth more than held their own. Martin had some pin- point goals and great hold up play along with Fraser who held the middle of the court very well. Martin, Callum and Jack would have had a few three pointers in a real court!

Special word for Jamie, "The Quiet man". He does what any coach asks of him. Quiet he may be but effective and gives his team a player they can rely on. Well done Jamie, and well done everyone.

The children did so well at the Rugby World Cup. Despite it being the first taste of Rugby for the majority, they showed again that winning is not everything. The kids played with passion, determination and above all respect for themselves and the other teams. They really did Dalry proud. Great "try" guys!!!!!

As I won't be able to get into school before you all break up for the holidays, I just wanted to thank the staff who were kind enough to give up their time and take our children to Dundee. I can see from the video that Lauren brought back that everyone seemed to be having a great time, (even Mrs Heuchan! Oh yes she caught you landing on your bottom!). I don't know about the others, but Lauren and Kirsty loved every minute of it and are still coming away with tales that we've probably heard for the hundredth time. "Joseph" pushed the boundaries at Dalry School. I went to both nights and thoroughly enjoyed them. Both Martin and Connor did so well standing up in front of so many people and singing so well.
I am very proud of Martin and hope he enjoys the upcoming year in P7.
Thank you to all the staff who helped produce Joseph.

Good luck boys on Saturday at the Paul Jones Cup final. We don`t have a big number of kids to pick from, but yet again, the cream has rose to the top. To finish third over a long campaign out of twenty four schools is remarkable. Well done to everyone.
Whatever happens, I hope the day is remembered by you all as an important day playing for your school. I always remember playing for my school.
You all make us so proud, so relax, concentrate and enjoy another BIG day for Dalry School!

Supporters welcome. Starts at 10am at St.Cuthbert Wanderer`s Ground, Kirkcudbright. (Beside the swimming pool)

The second night of Jospeh was just as good as the first. Well done Connor for being so brave. I`m sure Martin and yourself had many butterflies. I for one could not have done what you both did and you should be very proud.
Edmund, well Edmund if you never become a millionaire, you might have a great job doing elvis impersinations! Well done!!
I thought everyone did so well from the lovely vibrant colours of the stage (well done Heidi) to the great singing of the back up choirs, to both Josephs and of course Pottifer and his charming wife!!!

It seems impossible, but I have been to countless shows at Dalry School, and hand on heart, every one seems to get better!

Next time there is a show or presentation at this wonderful school, please try and come along and see it for yourself. You don`t need to have children at the school. It is a very welcoming place to be.

Just a word to add to Mellissa`s comment. Today the boys played so well in the football tournament. High standards were acheived again. We are excitedly awaiting news to see if we are in the top four teams. That in itself is a brilliant acheivement due to our small numbers available to pick from. We finished the league having played nineteen games and losing only one!
We ended up with a points total of 46. Thank you boys for doing your very best and playing so well.
Thank you also to the suporters who really DO make a difference.

Well done to everyone who took part in the Stars in Your Eyes. Nicole I am so proud of you and think you were fantastic! Special mention to Madonna(s) and their backing group "The Pacemakers"? What a brilliant staff. Fun and lively. Not many if any school staff would be up for doing such a display of enthusiasm. I am sure that along with the adults, the children of Dalry really appreciatte what great staff, teachers and helpers alike we have. We are very lucky. Special mention too to Mr.Brown. No show is complete without a great MC. Could it be MC Brown instead of MC HAMMER ?

Please ask for information at our Stand on display at the "Anniversary" events on Wednesday 30th August and Friday 1st September.
Leaflets and advice will be present to make your shopping experience at www.buy.at/dalryscool a simple and rewarding experience. "Simple" because once you know how to shop on the School web shop, you won`t believe how easy it is. "Rewarding" as every time you make a normal purchase, "Friends of Dalry School" gets commission, but from the company only. You pay no more than your purchase price which is arguably often less than the high street price for the same shop!!

The shop is "open" on-line all year round to people outwith Dalry. Many people visit this wonderful site and I`m hopeful you may wish to help without spending a penny more. Please email me at blairtempleton@hotmail.com and I will gladly help you in the simple process.
Thank you.

The website is very good and the paintings were very bright and the comments that you put in were very good and i think Nathans picture was really good but he could do much better and he needs to improve with his painting and he needs to take his time because it looks like he rushed so try and do that by the way we were very thankful for taking us to Barony Collage and my favourite animal was Freddie the rat because it was very gentle and i liked holding the Corn Snake and it tickled so much that i quickly gave it to the next person and i did get a bit upset but i got on with it. On the way back i slept all the way back so i was very tired when we got off the bus and i would like to say a big thank you to the teachers that took us to Barony Collage and the paintings were very, very coooooollllll !!!!

Hi everyone my mum [Linda Biggar]did a marathon moon walk in Edinburgh last night. she walked 26 miles starting at 12:00 and finishing at 7:50 with her friend Jane. There were so many people they had to walk really slowly for the first 10 miles and had to queue for half an hour for the toilets! She saw the sun rise over the river Forth. She won a medal and was very pleased to be home! I made a banner to put up in the porch with streamers to hang down too. Toaday she has been restin in the afternoon. she'll be ready for the next half marathon and the next marathon in no time.
Well done too to the swimming team that went to Castle Doglas and won a trophy.

What an amazing school. I intended to spend about 2 minutes checking out your site. I ended up spending over half an hour. You are terrific. The site is terrific, but the things you do are amazing. I can't believe how talented your artists are, but what an excellent way to show off paintings to friends and family. Congratulations to all concerned.

MUMS DADS AUNTS UNCLES GRANDPARENTS, the message is simple. WHEN YOU WANT TO BUY- TRY DALRY.
Our new web shop lets you make donations to the school by way of comission from companies. There are over 80 companies involved such as BT, SKY, M&S, HAVEN HOLIDAYS, AMAZON and so on.
One example, get Sky TV through our web shop "visit store" and the school gets- £50 FOR EVERY PERSON WHO DOES SO!! Change from a broadband company to say Virgin or BT or NTL and the least the school makes is £21 PER PERSON. Another way you can contribute is to request brochures i.e. Canvas Holidays- 90p per brochure to school with no obligation to you!
All the comission is kept by "buy.at" and sent directly to Friends of Dalry every month by cheque. Please with X- Mas coming give it a go. Available all year round with special offers on just about every store you visit. It costs you NO EXTRA as it`s the companies that will be donating. You can see the comission we get from them by looking up the 80 business A-Z and looking down the left hand side. Remember to activate funding for the "FODS" you must enable cookies and buy buy buy off of www.buy.at/dalryscool Visiting the store on it`s own without doing so through the link gets us £0.
Emergency meeting planned at Dalry School Tuesday 11th October 6pm FODS members welcome as are teaching staff.

What a brilliant website you have at Dalry! I was really impressed when I logged on recently. I was interested to hear about your school and all your achievements. I taught Business Education in the Secondary School at Dalry from 1988-1991. Maybe I taught some of your parents! I enjoyed myself so much during that time that when I saw a job advertised a few months ago for a Business Education teacher I decided to apply. Guess what? I got the job and will be starting next Monday. I am really looking forward to meeting you all. Hope you will introduce yourself to me whan I see you. Keep up the good work!!!

Have a brilliant holiday. Good luck in P5 Martin.

Yipee! We are on holiday. Have a great time EVERYBODY at Dalry.

I will really miss you P7s - what a year you had! Starting with meeting Princess Anne when she opened the Science Centre in Glasgow; talking to teachers at the Glasgow SETT conference in September; making a presentation to teachers about Climate Change at Caerlaverock in February; addressing scientists in Aviemore about Weatherwatching in May and driving through St. Andrews, waving to the crowds when Prince William was graduating; and finally winning a brilliant prize for the Climate Change competition and being presented with the prize by Ross Finney (Environment Minister) and Jack McConnell (First Minister).

A class act to follow!

Good luck to you all from Mrs Brown.

I just want to say hello to Mrs Porteous, who taught me in P1,2 and 3 before I moved to London and wonder if she remembers me. I was slightly obnoxious and tended to bring soft toys to school. Also I was sick at the christmas party, but that probably doesn?t narrow it down much...

Hi to all at Dalry School. I am a teacher at Tighnabruaich Primary School. I spent 6 very happy weeks on teaching practice with P6 and Mrs Thomson at your school 23 years ago. I was Miss Paterson then. Two of your former pupils are now at my school- isn't it a small world. I hope to set up a website soon for our school with the help of the computer club. I really like your site - well done.

I just wish we were a little closer to Scotland. I would love my daughter to go to the jewellery and body decoration workshop at the Gracefield Arts Centre (anything to do with Elvis? probably not!) Your school sounds wonderful, and this cooool website is a great idea for keeping parents informed. I must suggest we start one at my daughter's school. Just wanted to say well done to Martin, Connor, Jack, Leo, Edmund and Greig for playing so well at the Fun Fours finals in Glasgow. Dear Mrs Brown
Thankyou for writing to me. I am having a great time in America. My new school is called John May Middle School. I am in 6th grade. It is a really big school with 300 in my year! I really like it here. My day starts at 7.30 with home base then we move from classroom to classroom with different teachers for each subject. I get 42 minutes for lunch and the food is really yummy. We have PE 3 times a week and the football pitch is made of astro turf and is really big. In social studies we are learning about Ancient Rome. Miss Greenstone is a really nice teacher. I finish my day at 2.17 and take the bus back to my house 1 mile away from school. I live in a town called Cross River, New York it is 42 miles north of Manhatten. We have a direct train to Grand Central Station in New York City. I like New York very much. There are lakes and forests and it is very pretty.
My dad has a house in Florida as well. I finish school on June 16th and we will go to Florida on the 17th for a holiday.
I am sending you photos to show my friends; the first is my house in New York, the other is my garden in Florida and the last is an alligator I saw in the Everglades on a boat ride.
All the best Mrs Brown from

I, along with other parents, had the pleasure of having my first school meal for over 25 years on Tuesday 26th April at Dalry! It was interesting to see what changes are taking place in the school dining room and to see just what my kids are eating at lunch time first- hand. I would encourage more parents to go along at lunch times, where they will be made most welcome.
p.s. I`m now taking names for the School Fun day 5-a-side football on Saturday 21st May. Please contact myself or the Primary Department to register a team. If you don`t have a team don`t worry, we will make sure you get a game.

Hi Hungry Horse crew,
The opening date for P4's tuckshop is getting close. The Hungry Horse was good practice for me but we have around 400 pupils to serve here! We will start off small until we get the hang of serving and working with the money. It is exciting opening a new tuckshop and it brings back lots of fond memories.
I will keep you updated with our progress. Be sure to pass on any good enterprise ideas you have! ~ Miss Devlin.

Specail hi to miss devlin who has been in touch with us to say she is setting up a tuck shop in her new school a bit like The Hungry Horse. she asked us for a bit of advice on how we did it so sucsefully. At the start we made a group of people and they decided on a suitable name. the winning name was Hungry Horse invaented by Martin Tempelton. Then acording to the name we needed a logo to advertise in our posters and the winning logo was drawn by Edmund Wise. Then our wonderful Miss Devlin came up with the idea of a slogan. the winning slogan was "Come and Buy it Before the Hose eats it" invented by Joshua Trueman. Then to start of with you might want to get some volunteer adults to help you get started once you get the hang of the prices and money and sales you can probebly do it on your own. In order of everyone that wants to do it gets a chance to we take term about with about two students atleast. At the end of the day we count the money we do it on Tuesdays and Fridays and we usually collect more on Fridays. Once we count the money we put a float for change the next day of £3. Every day now is probably a huge success!

Hi Ron in Australia!
I asked my mother-in-law if she remembered you from 1939. She thinks you were evacuated from Glasgow? She said a lot of children came here to dalry to be safe during the war, but she can't remember you Ron. She remembers Mona though.
Mona was an English lady and she was married to a Scotsman. He worked for the forestry. Thery stayed in dalry a long time before emigrating to Australia. Mrs Brinkmann remembers the accident involving the horse well. She said that Ron was right, it happened in the field behind Underhill. Some boys were playing at running under the horse and one was kicked on the head and died.
Mrs Brinkmann remembers that Mona's son Robin lost an eye during a science experiment at Dalry School.
Ron was right about the sawmill, it was up the Garroch Glen.
Mona and her husband are dead now but 3 years ago whilst Mrs Brinkmann was in dalry post office she met Mona's daughter Jean, who had come from Australia to visit Dalry.
Does anyone else remember anything?

Very good website. Best in the world. The most sooper dee dooper website we have ever seen in our lives.
Miss Devlin has been asking for advice on the tuck shop to set one up at her school so here is some advise. Our tuck shop is called The Hungry Horse and we do not sell any thing under 15p. It has its own bank acount and all the money is easily handled now. We have 3 children who opened the acount Lauren P5, Hazel P3 and Kirsty also P3. They sign the money in. We kept some of Miss Devlin's ideas and used them. To get rid of some of the food we do a tombola.
Hello Miss Devlin and everyone else!
Ron
01 February 2005 00:00:00
Hi!
I have just found your site on the web and must say the school appears to be a lot different to when I attended it in 1939/40! My brother and I were evacuated to dalry right at the beginning of the war, and stayed with my aunt (Mona Milligan) at 12 Underhill. Maybe one of you still lives in the two story house which I remember well?
There used to be a field at the bottom of the hill in which a horse was kept. My most vivid memory was of a pupil getting kicked in the chest by the horse. We all heard that he was killed, but never knew for certain.
We used to play in an old sawmill which wasn't far out of the village, but I have no idea whereabouts!
Thanks for bringing back some memories for me.
Ron,
Perth, Australia

Congratulations P6 and P7 for a very entertaining Burns Bash! Mr. Hall and I really enjoyed your poems and your singing ......... and we even enjoyed the Scottish jokes! My favourite is the one about..... "How many Scotsmen does it take to change a lightbulb?" I know you didn't tell that one at the Burns Bash but I've been looking at your website and thought it was very funny. In fact I've just sent your web number to my grandson in Alloway. He lives very near to the cottage where Burns was born and I know he will enjoy browsing your site.

Another highlight of the evening for both of us was the Scottish Country Dancing performed by the pupils of Mrs. McCall's class ....... well done all of you!

Many thanks to everyone who returned an evaluation sheet. We sent them to every parent, pupil and teacher in the school; we asked members of the community to complete evaluations as well. The results will be compiled and printed and will be available in the office in September. I can tell you that the comments were VERY positive; they ranged from "best school in Scotland" to "I am delighted that my children attend Dalry - it is a great school"; and "I love my school and can't think of anything I'd like to change".
Once again thank you for taking the time to complete the forms, and thank you for the VERY encouraging comments.

Sorry,I was desperate to give you the pupils a penalty but there was no way the ball was getting past a quality defence consisting of Mr Jackson, Mrs Brown and Miss Bell. Maybe you`ll win next time.
Well done to the Teachers and pupils who are making Dalry School truly cool. Not many schools will receive accolades such as website of the month for Scotland let alone such a small one. And to think there was the possibility of closure just a few short years ago. Nice to see that the hard work is now being rewarded. Keep it up.

Just wanted to say that Nicole. Martin and I loved the "Grease" production on Thursday night.(Even though I missed a certain other event on Thursday night, it was worth it.)
Only problem is that you in the Secondary School have now started something I`m sure we all hope becomes a regular fixture.(?)
Now the kids going on from Dalry Primary may have the chance to keep involved in the marvellous musicals they currently enjoy and we do likewise. I certainly hope so.
Excellent work and thank you.
p.s. Loved the car !!!!

GREASE , performed by our secondary pupils, was absolutely brilliant. Congratulations to the cast and everybody involved . What a great site! I learned a lot about St. John's Town of Dalry, it sounds a great town (or do you call it a village?) I will be in South West Scotland in September and I will follow Tam o' Shanter's route. My family is Scottish and I was sure the poem would be based in Ayr. You see you taught me something and at my age (50 something) that doesn't happen every day.

We have just watched Carina, Georgina and Sabrina staring in their holiday programme. It was definitely the best programme my family and I have watched in a long time. We loved Gillian refusing to say any scenery - even the Canadian rockies could beat the view at home. Horse riding, white water rapids, helicopter rides and Simon Calder is there anything this family can't manage?

Your web-site is great! Well done in all your activities. We will certainly recommend your site to our contact schools. We found your details on the GLOBE website. Best Wishes. Hi Guys. Hope the Burns Supper went well. I was thinking about you all over here in New Zealand. I have just come back from my summer holiday. We went swimming with whales. Seeing whales in real life is totally awesome and you feel very vulnerable. The Antarctic Experience was incredible too....but your website is absolutely fantastic and made me feel very homesick. I miss you guys very much and missing Mrs Brown even more. Say hi to Mrs Porteous and Liz and everybody for me.

Dear Pupils of Dalry Primary.

I hope that you enjoyed the Thunderbolts and Clydethings show that you saw at Glasgow Science Centre and that it has helped you with the weather project that you recently started.

I have been hearing about all the hardwork that you have been doing collecting weather data from your teacher Mrs Brown. I have just looked at the GLOBE website to see how you were getting on and I am amazed at how much information you have collected in such a short space of time, you should be very proud of yourselves. I hope that you are also enjoying recording the rainfall in your school grounds and that you found learning about different types of clouds interesting too.

All the best with your project.

What a brilliant website - and so much variety and detail. Even though I was born and brought up in Castle Douglas I didn't know how St John's Town of Dalry got its name - until now. Next time I'm visiting Angus he'll have to show me the stone.
Well done everyone! Thanks Angus for telling me about it.

What a wonderful website - I have really enjoyed visiting your website and finding out about all the activities you are doing at school. I was very interested to read about your Eco'Scool activities and I was impressed by the range of topics you have covered. Keep up the good work! I look forward to visiting you in February to look into doing a waste management plan for the school at part of the Eco School Award.
