Ealry Closure Procedure

From time to time (probably once or twice per year on average) an easly closure may occur when we have to send some or all pupils home early due to unforeseen circumstances.

The commonest reasons are:

Breakdown of heating system;
Electrical failure;
Threatened bad weather (usually involving snow);
Bus breakdown which means that a bus has to do a double run.

Text messaging will be used to convey information to parents in the first instance if there is an alteration to transport for that day.

Parents complete a form at the beginning of each session, notifying the school where their child should go in the event parents can't be contact and the school is closing.  These instructions will be followed closely, thereby allowing the school to close (usually due to inclement weather) quickly and effectively.  If you would like to make an alternation to the instruction the school holds, please contact the school office.

Parents of pupils using school transport are reminded that it is the divers decision as to whether the vehicle makes the journey in the morning, after either heavy snow or frost.  Should no transport arrive after a reasonable interval (30 - 35 minutes) and you decide to transport pupils to school yourself, please be responsible for the return journey in the evening.
